FROM THE AUTHOR
I created Drained to Drenched to honor my personal journey and pay homage to women everywhere.
There was a time in my life when I believed my strength derived from the part of me that felt very comfortable in my masculine or “doing” energy, to some extent, because I lacked knowledge about what true feminine or “being” energy was. I had three older brothers and no sisters. My mom always quipped, "I have three boys and a tomboy." She wasn't wrong. When I was a child, part of me longed to be a boy. To me, it seemed that freedom, power, safety, fun, and even societal rewards were locked away somewhere within the male body and non-stop productivity.
I came to realize that at the core of this disconnect was a simple lack of reverence for the beauty of our unique female design and “being” energetics. In failing to appreciate this, I was glossing over the wisdom and sacredness my female body had to offer by minimizing how it impacted my life – inaccurately viewing those impacts as detrimental rather than a gift.
Years of coaching and leading workshops for women have shown me that my experience is not unique and that this rarely discussed issue is contributing to many women feeling drained and anxious while struggling with more female-related health issues than ever before.
Honoring our Whole Selves
We can learn about nutrition, move our bodies, and limit stress, but if we're unclear on how to live in harmony with our natural cycles or hold shame around aspects of ourselves, we will struggle to truly thrive.
For the last few years, I have dedicated myself to uncovering my misaligned notions about femininity and where they originated in my life. As I examined where they came from, I became better at defining my truth and nourishing my relationship with my body and feminine nature. I became more whole and aligned. This process greatly improved every aspect of my life, and I know Drained to Drenched will offer similar healing to those called to participate.
